I’ve blogged before about my overflowing craft closet caused in large part by my love of fabric stores. Oh, how my heart goes pitter-patter when I find a beautiful bolt of fabric. Just one look at all that beautiful color, pattern and texture and I start dreaming up loads of new projects. Until now, I’ve been an on again, off again quilter. But quilting is time consuming and expensive! I’ve recently become fascinated by aprons. An apron, what a perfect project! A yard or two of beautiful fabric, an hour or two of time, and instant gratification! Meet my new best friend:
Isn’t she cute? I feel just like Lucy Ricardo. Except I’m not wearing full makeup, a pretty dress, a cinched-in waist and high heels to cook and clean in. All the fabulous 50’s TV housewives had a collection of beautiful aprons. Why can’t I?
I found this pattern on a great blog called Sharon Sews. Now this gal really sews up a storm. She posted a vintage apron pattern she found on the back of an old seam binding package. I changed it up a bit, and I love how it turned out.
Do you think if I make my hubby one, he’ll make dinner just like Ricky?
